Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe
You will be welcomed by a Verdant Safaris company representative who will transfer you to the hotel that has been booked for you in Entebbe to rest from the long flight. Take your time to relax as you prepare for the following day’s activities. This marks the start of the 9 Days Uganda Rwanda Primate Tracking Safari.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After your early morning breakfast, you will head northwards towards Murchison Falls National Park. It is the oldest and largest conservation area in Uganda with a stopover in Nakasongola to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track Rhinos lunch en-route in Masindi town and after to your main destination Murchison Falls National Park. You will arrive with a game drive in the park.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
Early morning meal after which you will head for a game drive through the park, searching for fauna including especially for the early morning risers. Animals to be spotted include elephants, giraffes, lions, impala, oribi, warthogs, lions. Head back to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. This will enable you have a closer look at the water mammals like the Nile crocodiles, hippos, waterbucks among other animal species.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Breakfast and an all day trip to Kibale Forest National Park the capital of primates with the largest forest cover in Kabarole district. The park hosts 13 species popularly known for chimpanzee tracking. It adjoins Queen Elizabeth National Park to the South and home to over 300 bird species arriving in the evening for dinner and stay overnight

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk.
Wakeup to an early morning breakfast and get ready for chimpanzee trekking. Your guide will drive you to Kanyanchu Visitor Center by 8am for your chimpanzee trek. This takes 2 to 3 hours through the thick tropical rain forest other primates like l’hoest monkey, black and white colobus monkey, retailed monkey, grey cheeked mangabey may be spotted. Have lunch at the lodge and an afternoon swamp walk to the Bigodi Sanctuary in search of swamp birds and more primates.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Following breakfast, you will head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha Sector for tree climbing lions approximately 6 hours’ drive to the home of the magnificent gentle mountain gorillas. Arrive in the evening for a Batwa Cultural Experience. Dinner and stay overnight at.

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Morning breakfast, and head to Volcanoes National Park headquarters to begin your gorilla tracking briefing from a park ranger about the park. You will be allocated in groups of eight per gorilla family to track. Tracking may take 2 to 8 hours depending on how far the gorilla families have moved it is quite tiring but rewarding by the end of the day as you get to meet these gentle giants.

Day 8: Golden Monkey Tracking
You will have an early morning breakfast and assemble at the park headquarters for the golden monkey tracking experience. After briefing, you will be led through by a ranger to the forest for the golden monkey tracking experience. It takes 2-3 hours and should be noted that they live in not so high environments of the park with ease accessibility. Enroute look out for more species of plants and bird species.
