Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Akagera National Park
On this first day of our trip around Rwanda, you will be welcomed by a Verdant Safaris company representative who will brief you on the tour and transfer you to Akagera National Park reaching in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive in the park. Day 2: Game Drives and Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema
Morning breakfast or tea, after which you will head to the park in search of the wildlife especially the early morning risers. These are amazing to view and take a look at while adventuring through the ecosystem. Expect to see lots of zebras, African elephants, birds, primates like olive baboons. Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Following morning breakfast, you will transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park, through the angelic rolling hills of the countryside stopping en-route to visit the Rwanda cultural museum, and the Nyanza kings palace. You will later proceed to one of the largest tropical forests of East Africa. It is home to 13 primate species notable for the chimpanzee. Dinner and staying overnight at

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk
In the early morning you will have breakfast, followed by a drive to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers, then set off to the forest in search of the primates. The drive to the tracking point takes 30 minutes and through the trails. You will look for the chimpanzee, en-route you will have a chance to encounter other primates like the black and white colobus monkeys. Return for lunch and an afternoon walk through the forest along the Canopy suspended bridge over trees returning for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On this day prepare for one of the most exciting journeys to make. This passes through the vegetative cover of Rwanda including the tea plantations and backdrop of the mountain that seems endless. Day 6: Gorilla Trekking
Following breakfast, and transfer to the gorilla briefing area in Kinigi, you will be given a gorilla family to trek in groups of 8 led through the park by a game ranger. You will enjoy the scenes of the forest, and the experienced guides will brief you about the forest composition. Lookout for other primate species enroute. An hour is allowed while with the mountain gorillas. Return to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 7: Gorilla Guardians’ Village
Today you will transfer to the Gorilla Guardians’ Village. This was the former Iby’iwacu community. You will spend the day in the community relaxed and being entertained by the people of the village, which was known for poachers who had lived and hunted from the forest. In the recent years they have learned how to appreciate tourism through dance and performance. They will show you the way of life for the people of Rwanda. You will return to the lodge for dinner and stay overnight at the

Day 8: Golden Monkey Tracking and Relaxation
Morning tea or coffee after which you will transfer to the park headquarters in search of golden monkeys. These are some of the critically endangered species living in the bamboo forested region of the park. The trek to the primates is less tedious compared to that of mountain gorillas. You will return to the lodge for relaxation for the rest of the evening at
