Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali International Airport
Upon arrival you will be welcomed by a Verdant Safaris company representative who will brief you on the 7 day Rwanda tour. Depending on the time you arrive you will do a Kigali City Tour visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the Cultural Museum of Rwanda and the local market. Check in at the hotel booked for you in Kigali for dinner and staying overnight.

Day 2: Helicopter Flight to Volcanoes National Park
After your morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your flight to Volcanoes National Park. The flight takes approximately 25 minutes. You will meet your guide, transfer to the lodge for lunch, and later go for an afternoon entertainment from the Iby’iwacu Community you will enjoy being in the community together with the locals. They will drum and dance to their traditional songs. Dinner and staying overnight at;

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience
After your early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will head out to the park headquarters as you prepare to track the mountain gorillas. You will be briefed by the ranger guides about the whole gorilla tracking exercise and you will be put in groups of 8 people, led by a ranger guide to guide you through the forest in search of the gorillas. Gorilla Trekking is an amazing experience and the gorillas live in harmony together with other creatures. Along the hike you may be lucky to see other park animals like the giant forest hog, forest elephants and forest duikers. Once you locate the gorillas, you will be allowed up to 1 hour with them for observation and photography. Dinner and staying overnight at;

Day 4: Golden Monkey Tracking
On this day, you will reassemble at the park headquarters for yet another endemic species experience just like the mountain gorillas. You will head into the forest, except the terrain is lower. Golden Monkeys live in the bamboo forest zone of the park outstanding with their extreme beautiful colors. The monkeys are always puffed and busy eating. It takes 2-3 hours participating in the activity before returning to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight.

Day 5: Helicopter Transfer to Akagera National Park
Have breakfast and take a Helicopter Flight to Akagera National Park. Your guide will welcome you to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon game drive in the park. Expect to see a number of animal species including; lions, giraffes, antelopes and the expanse of nature. Dinner and staying overnight at

Day 6: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise.
On this day you will have breakfast and head out to spend the day in the national park. You will reach the park in search of the so called big five of the wilderness. From the time lions were reintroduced into the conservation area, it has been the best of all times and only place to see savannah species while in the park. Return to the lodge for lunch and later take an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema. Expect to see water birds and islands while on the boat ride. Return for dinner and staying overnight at;
Magashi Camp

Day 7: Departure
You will take a relaxed morning breakfast after which you will go to the airstrip for a Helicopter transfer to Kigali International Airport for your flight back home.
