Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On this first day, a Verdant Safaris guide representative will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park. Depending on your time of arrival, you will be able to do a city tour in Kigali briefly before heading out to the conservation area, arriving for dinner, and staying overnight at

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Early morning breakfast after which you will set off to the park for the gorilla experience. It begins with a morning briefing from the park rangers after which you will be divided into groups of eight per gorilla family. Trekking takes 2 or more hours depending on how far gorilla families have moved. Look out for more park species while doing the walk. Return for a relaxed evening as we enjoy the magical views of the forest.

Day 3: Iby’iwacu Community Visit and Transfer to Lake Kivu
Have breakfast and visit the Gorilla Guardians’ Village. These are said to have been poachers in the early days of their living around the park but have learned how to embrace the forest. These perform angelic dances and traditional songs and show you the ways of life of the people of Rwanda. You will receive a good treat while in the village. Return to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Kivu
Following breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Kivu driving towards the western part of the country. You will arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon boat cruise on the lake. You will have spectacular views of the surrounding area including the Virunga National Park dinner and stay overnight at
Lake Kivu Serena Lodge
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 5: Transfer to Kigali
Following breakfast, you will take an optional boat ride on Lake Kivu to the islands after which you will return to the lodge check out and transfer to Kigali International Airport for your flight.
