Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Mgahinga National Park
Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be welcomed by a Verdant Safaris company representative who will pick you and transfer you to Mgahinga National Park in Uganda. This is one of the smallest conservation areas of Uganda, passing through the beautiful rolling hills of the western region south corner of the country. You will arrive to the lodge that has been booked for your dinner and staying overnight at

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience
After your early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters to begin the day’s activity. Briefing will be done by the Uganda Wildlife Authority team. Head into the forest in search of the golden monkeys. The monkeys are tucked in golden brown and black with noses facing up. These distinctive features differentiate them from other primates. It takes 2-3 hours after which you return for lunch and an afternoon entertainment from the Batwa Community. These are the group of the last remaining short structured people in Uganda living around the conservation area. Return for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 3: Twin Lakes Tour and Transfer to Musanze
Have breakfast, and depart Mgahinga, you will pass through the Cyanika Border, enroute we will visit the 2 twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo near Musaze, proceeding to the national park, you will arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon entertainment from the Iby’iwacu community, these will dance and perform to their traditional songs and drums for entertainment you will receive a queenly or Kingly treat once in the community, you will get to know the Rwandan way of life.
Returning for dinner and staying overnight at
Bisate Gorilla Lodge

Day 4: Hiking The Dina Fossey and Gisenyi Tour
You will have breakfast after which you transfer to the park headquarters to hike to the Dian Fossey tomb. The American primatologist was buried in the park at Karisoke Research Center. Her great works were evident during her stay towards the mountain gorillas. Return to the lodge for a meal and an afternoon walk in Gisenyi town. You will enjoy a boat cruise on the beautiful Lake Kivu. Dinner and staying overnight at
Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.

Day 5: Departure
Morning breakfast after which we will transfer to Kigali for your international flight back home.
