Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Upon arrival you will be welcomed by a Verdant Safaris company representative who will transfer you to your accommodation that has been booked. Depending on your time of arrival, our guide will take you on a tour of Kigali City including visiting the Rwanda Genocide Memorial at Gisozi. Return to the lodge for dinner and stay overnight at

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On this day you will enjoy a morning breakfast, after which you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park home to mountain gorillas, gorilla beringei. Arrive in time for a check-in at the lodge and entertainment from the Iby’iwacu community. These are said to have been poachers in the park and have however appreciated tourism in a different way for example they will perform and dance to travelers in exchange for money to sustain their living. Return to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking
Early morning breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla experience. It begins in the morning at 8:00am with a briefing from the park rangers after which you will be divided into groups of 8 per gorilla family. It takes 2 or more hours trekking the mountain gorilla depending on how far they have moved. Through the forest trails you will identify many bird species, plants and other primates present in the conservation area, you will return to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 4: Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Lake Kivu
Following breakfast, you will reassemble at the park premises for the golden monkey experience. Connect to the tracking point led through by a game ranger. The trek takes less time as compared to the mountain gorillas. Return to meet your guide who will transfer you to Lake Kivu enjoying the afternoon along the shores. Dinner and staying overnight at

Day 5: Lake Kivu and Relaxation

Day 6: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Morning tea of coffee after which you will drive towards the Nyungwe Forest National Park. This is a known home to the chimpanzees. The thick tropical rain forest hosts over 13 primate species. It is one of the last few remaining tracts of deep forest in Rwanda know to have survived the ice age era. Arrive in time for lunch and later do a short guided nature walk through the forest region. Day 7: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk
On this day you will have a nice mouth-watering breakfast after which you will transfer to the park headquarters for a morning briefing, then begin the chimpanzee tracking. The primates are so loud that you will be in position to hear them as they have the beautiful sound through the forest. Day 8: Transfer to Akagera National Park

Day 9: Game Drives and Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema
Morning breakfast after which you will head to the park for game drives early in the morning, through the well distributed tracts of the park. Expect to see lions, leopards, elephants, African buffaloes, antelopes ton mention a few. You will return to the lodge for lunch followed by an afternoon boat cruise along the Lake Ihema for more wildlife views like hippos and crocodiles. Return for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 10: Departure
